Mr. Andrew Dowley

Having obtained his Medical degree in 1995 at Sheffield, England, Andrew went through basic then higher surgical training in Nottingham and qualified as an ENT specialist in 2007. Following this he did a further Fellowship in Rhinology in Plymouth, then held a Consultant post in Cheltenham and Gloucester. He moved to Hawke's Bay with his family in 2009 and has worked at Hastings Hospital and Kawkea Hospital since.
His area of interest and clinical expertise is Rhinology and Facial Plastics. This includes complex Septorhinoplasty, Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Otoplasty and the treatment of facial Skin Cancer including major reconstructive surgery. He is the Head of the ENT Department, has previously been Chair of the local skin cancer interest group and is Chair of Health New Zealand Central Region ENT Leadership Group. He is a member of the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastics, the Australian and New Zealand Rhinological Society and the New Zealand Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgeons. He was the convener of the national NZ ENT conference in 2025, regularly presents at meetings and conferences and has published a number of articles.
Ebba Burton
RN, PGDipHSc, Cert. Dermatoscopy SCSNZA
Ebba qualified as a Registered Nurse at The University of Auckland. She has works at Hawkes Bay Hospital specialising in ENT, oncology and skin cancer. She works closely with Andrew Dowley at the Skin Clinic Hawkes Bay, performing skin checks and assisting with skin surgeries. She has developed advanced skills and knowledge in this field, has completed a Certificate of Fundamental Dermatoscopy through the Skin Cancer Symposiums New Zealand and Australia, and has attended many melanoma and skin cancer conferences.
She performs full body skin checks and spot checks and can refer patients on to the appropriate specialists if surgery or other treatment is required. At Skin Clinic Hawke's Bay, Ebba also performs the post op wound care, dressings, suture removal, assists with follow up and manages the surgical side of the clinic.
